Privacy Policy.

Last updated: July 2026

This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data when you visit this website or get in touch with us. We are the data controller for the personal data described below. This policy reflects our obligations under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

This site is operated by Unscene. If you have any questions about this policy, or about how your data is handled, contact us at accounts@the-unscene.com.

The data we collect

We collect only what we need to run this site and respond to you:

  • Information you give us. When you complete a form, book a call or email us, we collect your name, email address, company and anything else you choose to include in your message.
  • Necessary service data. Our hosting provider may process technical information such as your IP address, browser type and request time to deliver and secure the site.
  • Optional analytics data. If you allow analytics, Google Analytics may process information about your browser or device, approximate location, the pages you view and selected actions you take on the site. Analytics remains off unless you choose to allow it.

How we use your data, and our lawful basis

We use your data to respond to enquiries, to provide and manage our services, and to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Under UK data protection law we rely on the following lawful bases:

  • Legitimate interests: responding to your enquiry, operating and securing our website, and running our business, where your rights do not override those interests.
  • Contract: where we are taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, or performing a contract with you.
  • Consent: for optional Google Analytics and any future marketing you actively choose. You can refuse or withdraw consent at any time without affecting your access to the site.
  • Legal obligation: where we are required to keep records, for example for tax or regulatory purposes.

Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers who help us run this business, such as website hosting, email and the Fillout form service. Google receives analytics data only if you allow analytics. We share data only so far as each provider needs it to provide that service. We may also disclose data where we are required to do so by law.

International transfers

Some of our providers are based outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as we need it to deal with the enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards. Where we have a contract with you, we keep records for as long as required for legal, tax and accounting purposes. We delete or anonymise data once it is no longer needed.

Cookies

We store your analytics choice in your browser so the site can remember it. This preference is necessary to respect your choice. Google Analytics does not load and analytics cookies are not set unless you select “Allow”. If allowed, Google Analytics may set cookies such as _ga to distinguish visits and help us understand which pages and actions are useful. Advertising storage, Google signals and ad personalisation remain disabled.

You can refuse analytics, withdraw a previous choice or allow it later using the button below. Withdrawing consent stops future analytics events and removes Google Analytics cookies that are accessible to this site. You can also delete cookies through your browser settings.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete
  • ask us to delete your data in certain circumstances
  • ask us to restrict how we use your data
  • object to our processing where we rely on legitimate interests
  • ask us to transfer your data to you or another provider in a portable format
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent

To exercise any of these rights, email accounts@the-unscene.com. We will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first so that we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection, at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
